Update for SUmmer 2010

Over the last few months a lot of things have changed and for the better. As some of you may know, during the past decade Jack Mack did mostly corporate and private gigs. The money was good and we wanted to please the clients so the band slowly became more of a cover band doing songs that many people might know but not necessarily songs we love to play. It kinda took the soul out of the band. Well after 911 and the economy taking a nose dive the corporate thing dried up and we were there we were, not playing as much as we like. A couple months ago our good friend Beachy who is a music producer in LA, came to to us with the idea of going back to where we started, playing one night a week in Hollywood and doing the music we loved. We thought it was perfect timing. We added 4 new members, Terry Landry on Bari Sax, Roy Wiegan on trumpet, Bruce Atkinson on bass and vocals and Robin Swenson on Keys and vocals, We went down to our rehearsal studio for 2 months and re worked many of the songs from our 1080-84 set list. The show is great, the band is killer and we should be on the Sunset strip at the Cat Club June 10th 2010. Look at the website for updates on exact dates and hope to see you there. www.jackmack.com

Jack Mack revamped and back on Sunset Blvd

Hey Gang, our good friend Beachy and his pal DK decided they wanted to create a Soul night at DK's club, The Cat Club in Hollywood which is a couple doors west of the infamous Whiskey on Sunset Blvd. Beachy called Billy and asked him if we would want play every Thursday night. Bill called me and we decided we would only do it if we revamped the band and added those really cool soul cover songs from our early 80's set list. A few days later, we added amazing bassist and lead vocalist Bruce Atkinson and incredible keyboardist and lead vocalist Robin Swenson. We also decided it was time to go back to 3 horns so we added a really bad cat, Terry Landy on Baritone Sax. Roy Wiegan is on trumpet filling in for Les Lovitt who is out with The Eagles and those are some big shoes to fill, go Roy. We worked on our new show for a month and played our first night last Thursday. We were really pleased with the turn out and are looking to all our friends and fans to come out. Our 2nd night is next Thursday April 22, 2010. The Cat Club is a small bar and we are packed onto a 12x12 stage. The band is burning and the songs are great. so come down and support Soul Night at the Cat Club. If we get a good turn out we are planning to keep doing it. Thanks Andrew
